On Sunday 2 th November 2015, correspondence to the 19th Muharram 1437 AH was held the first public defense of the master degree in Islamic Jurisprudence at the Islamic University In Somalia with the presence of a number of the university's management, professors, students and distinguished guests. The thesis was presented by the student / Abdi-fatah Mohamoud Abdi-Samad and entitled "Score requirement in the robbery", and the defense panel consists of as the follows:-

 

1.Dr. Hassan Osman Ahmed, assistant professor the thesis supervisor and the panel chairman

2.Dr. Mohammed Dirie SabriyeAssistant professor and the external supervisor

3.Dr. Ibrahim Sheikh AbdiAssistant professor and internal supervisor

After deliberation the thesis was approved with the adjustment requirements and the student was given an excellent mark.

In the first of the inauguration of the meeting Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan (Awale), Dean of the Students Affairs was addressed and opened the session as well as he welcomed those presents at the meeting, as he also expressed the objectives of the meetings. And also Professor Dr. Omer Abdullahi Dean of the university’s postgraduate studies faculty was praised the important of the postgraduate studies that offered by the Islamic University, and he described it as positive step. Mr Abdullahi added it "this is the first of its kind of such master degree defense was held at the level of Somalia since the collapse of the central government of the country in 1991.

It was mentioned that the Islamic University in Somali was one of the active universities in country and it graduates since its foundation 11 batches, and now it offers five disciplines in master’s programs who are as follows:-

2. Usul figh

3.Hadith and its sciences

4.Arabic language

5.Education – Department of Curriculum and teaching methods.
